Paola Antonelli


Paola Antonelli was one of the speakers at the Mental and Material section of Doors 3 (Friday afternoon).

Paola Antonelli, Associate Curator, Department of Architecture and Design, Museum of Modern Art, New York, joined the Museum of Modern Art in March, 1994. Her first exhibition for this institution, `Mutant Materials in Contemporary Design', opened in May, 1995. As freelance curator and co-ordinator, Ms. Antonelli organised the exhibitions `Domus Through Domus' (Toronto, Chicago, Montreal, Vancouver, 1988), `Collezione per un modello de museo del disegno'(Lingotto Factory, Turin, 1990), `Mobili Italiani 1961-1991' (Triennale, Milan, 1991). Paola Antonelli graduated in Architecture from the Polytechnical Institute of Milan in 1990 with a thesis entitled Fractal Architecture. She has worked as contributing editor of Domus (1987-91) and contributed articles to Graphis, Metropolis, Square and Synchron. From 1991-1993, she lectured on design history and theory at the Design Department of the University of California, Los Angeles.
