David Liddle
David Liddle is a recognised computer industry visionary, having spent his career communicating ideas about client/server architectures and user interfaces for business professionals. He frequently writes and speaks about his ideas on new end-user computing environments and the potential for software to transform our work lives.

In March 1992, Liddle founded Interval Research Corp with Paul Allen (co-founder of Microsoft and founder of Asymetrix) to perform research and advanced development in the areas of information systems, communication and computer science.

In 1982, Liddle founded and was president and CEO of Metaphor Computer Systems, and later president/CEO of Patriot Partners, a joint venture between IBM and Metaphor. Following IBM's acquisition of Metaphor in 1991, Liddle became vice president of new systems business development at IBM's Personal Systems division.

Prior to founding Metaphor, Liddle had spent ten years at the Xerox Palo Alto Research Centre, where he was responsible for the planning, development and launch of Xerox's client/server architecture, including the Ethernet LAN and the Xerox Star - the first commercial implementation of a Graphical User Interface.
