Masuyama
Masuyama (1958) graduated at Keio-gijuku University faculty of Literature in 1981, majoring in Organisational Psychology, following which he spent two years in New York (1981-1983) working with the underground Multi-media performance group Irrational. He is currently a freelance researcher in New Media Environments, part-time lecturer at Kyoritsu woman's University (Tokyo, Japan) and Visiting Research fellow at Keio-Gijuku University (Kanagawa, Japan).

Masuyama was editor of Video Game Encyclopaedia, Thought For Personal Computers and he co-authored the books Multimedia Frontier 93 (book & CD-ROM), Thought for Personal Computers (1990, Shoueisha) and the latest Denshi Yugi Jidai (1994, The Age of Video Games). He also is a contributing writer for Inter Communication (Japan), Wired (US), Mediamatic (Netherlands). His TV credits include Video Evolution Theory (1986) and TV'S TV (1987).

Masuyama has also been a consultant to companies such as Nintendo and Apple (Japan) and currently is a chief organiser of the Game Museum project in Japan. He will present an evolutionary approach to computer games while stressing the importance of video/computer games when it comes down to interactivity.
