Karin Spaink was one of the speakers at Mental and Material section of Doors 3 (Friday afternoon).

Karin Spaink, author, Amsterdam, is an influential Dutch critic of cultural phenomena. "What I sense behind, in, under or throughout the idea of Internet, cyborgs and so forth, is a way of thinking which regards the body as a quantité negligeable, something many people would rather simply be rid of... That body of ours has laws of its own. It makes its presence felt and is capricious and stubborn. Bodies are extremely brazen and force us to take notice of them, even in cyberspace."
