Pauline Terreehorst (Rotterdam, 1952) writes for the newspaper 'de Volkskrant'. She began her career writing about photography and video art; in 1986, she also began writing about fashion.

She was founder of the feminist film collective Cinemien, chief editor of Skrien film magazine, film critic of the Groene Amsterdammer periodical and professor of film theory at the University of Nijmegen. In her work, she attempts to explore the interconnectedness of her main fields of interest of film, photography and fashion. She studied Dutch language and literature, art history and philosophy.

Besides her weekly contributions to the Dutch national newspaper De Volkskrant, where she has been a columnist since 1992, she has published a number of books. Among them are: There, Then, Here. The Films of Johan van der Keuken (1988); Once Upon a Time- A Series of Lessons for Intermediate Education (1988); Modus: About People, Fashion and Life.
