Tjebbe van Tijen
Tjebbe van Tijen is curator of the 'Documentation Center of Social Movements' at the International Institute of Social History, Amsterdam. He is the initiator of the WAAL project (Wide Area Archive and Library) that will preserve and catalogue information relevant for social history in electronic form. He is also founder of 'Imaginary Museum Projects' (1991) that specializes in the dramatization of history on the basis of compact information carriers. Recent projects are the Imaginary Museum of Revolution (with Jeffrey Shaw) and Orbis Pictus Revised (with Milos Vojtechovsky). A new project in study phase is Unbombing the World, a transnational, poly-interpretive history of a century of areal bombings of cities. |
